Clara Johansson VIPsAllowed - Good but needs time
7/10

Bought this on recommendation from my local wine shop. Honestly found it a bit tight when I first opened it — took a good hour to really open up. Once it did, lovely clear aromas and a long clean finish. I'd probably cellar the next bottle for a couple of years. Decent for the price but not quite there yet.

Amira Benali VIPsAllowed - Proper Barolo without the silly price
8/10

I've been getting into Barolo recently and a lot of the good ones are £80+, so finding this at under £50 was a win. Smells amazing straight away — no messing about, just proper fruit and earth. Firm tannins but not aggressive. Had it with lamb shanks and it was perfect.

Jason Steel VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
8/10

My wife got me this for my birthday and we had it with a big steak. The 14% alcohol doesn't hit you at all, it's really well balanced. Loved how the finish just sort of lingers without being overwhelming. Would definitely buy again.

Noah Williams VIPsAllowed - Bit pricey for a midweek bottle
7/10

Saw this on a list at a restaurant and then tracked it down online. It's nice — clean finish, good depth, no complaints really. But at nearly £47 I expected to be a bit more wowed? Maybe I need to give it more air next time. Would probably go for something cheaper day-to-day and save this for a special occasion.

Olivia Park VIPsAllowed - Brilliant with a slow-cooked ragu
9/10

Picked this up for a Saturday night in and it was genuinely impressive. Really bold structure but not heavy-handed — the fruit and acidity keep everything in check. Opened it about 30 minutes before dinner and it just got better and better. At £47 it's not an everyday buy but for a proper Barolo it's actually reasonable.
