Gallimard Les Riceys Cuvee Reserve Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV GallimardReally impressed for the price
Picked this up for a dinner party and it went down an absolute treat. Lovely bready, biscuity thing going on with really fine bubbles. At around £34 it's genuinely good Champagne without the ridiculous markup. Will definitely be buying again.
Good with food
Had this with a roast chicken dinner and it was a great match. Clean and crisp with enough body to stand up to actual food rather than just being an aperitif. The finish hangs around in a nice way. I'd grab another bottle for sure.
Hidden gem from Les Riceys
Tried this at a tasting event and immediately bought three bottles. Gallimard clearly know what they're doing — the mousse is so fine and the fruit is ripe but not overdone. Genuinely complex stuff for under £35. If you're into grower Champagne this is a no-brainer.
Expected a bit more honestly
The wine shop guy recommended this and it's fine but I've had better at this price point. The bubbles are nice and it's got that brioche smell which is pleasant, but for £34 I was hoping for something with a bit more wow factor. Wouldn't rush to buy it again.
Birthday fizz that actually delivered
Got this as a birthday present for my mum and she loved it. We both thought the apple and orchard fruit flavours were really well balanced, not too sweet, not too dry. The bubbles lasted ages in the glass too. Proper Champagne feel without spending silly money.
Solid everyday Champagne
Nice enough but not mind-blowing. Good fruit, clean finish, does the job. I'd say it's fair value for what you get — not cheap but not taking the mick either.
