Furleigh Estate Classic Cuvée Brut 2019: Bubbles Done Right
Sparkling 12% ABV ABV Furleigh EstateSolid but not a showstopper
Had this at a dinner party last weekend. It's well made — fresh, balanced, pleasant apple and pear notes. I just didn't get the wow factor I was hoping for at this price point. The Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend works well though, and everyone else at the table seemed to enjoy it more than I did.
Blew my mind at a tasting
Tried this at a local wine tasting evening and immediately went and bought two bottles. The pear and apple flavours are so clean, and there's a lovely citrusy zing at the end that keeps you coming back for more. We had it with fish and chips the next day and it was brilliant.
Great English sparkling
I'm still pretty new to wine beyond grabbing whatever's on offer, but I picked this up after reading about English sparkling wines. It's really smooth and not too sweet, with a sort of creamy texture. The grapefruit hint at the end was a nice surprise. Will definitely buy again.
English fizz that actually delivers
The guy at our local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something sparkling but not Prosecco. Really glad he did — it's got this nice bready thing going on underneath the fruit, and the bubbles are super fine. £35 feels fair for the quality.
Nice but a bit steep
It's a good sparkling wine, don't get me wrong. Crisp, appley, refreshing finish. But at nearly £35 I'd probably only buy it for a special occasion. For a midweek treat I'd stick with something cheaper.
Perfect for celebrations
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. Lovely creamy bubbles with that apple-y freshness, and it didn't feel heavy at all even after a couple of glasses. Honestly holds its own against Champagne at twice the price.
