Frerejean Freres Rose NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Frerejean FreresProper rosé champagne
Had this at a friend's house and immediately wanted to know what it was. It's got real structure to it, not one of those wishy-washy rosé champagnes that just taste like pink lemonade. The finish sticks around in a really satisfying way. Tracked down a bottle for myself the next week.
Dinner party hit
Brought two bottles to a dinner party and everyone was asking about it. It's one of those champagnes that even people who don't really know wine can appreciate — it's just immediately appealing and expressive. The rosé colour is gorgeous in the glass too. Really pleased with this one.
Expected more honestly
Maybe I hyped myself up too much but this didn't blow me away. It's perfectly fine champagne and there's some nice complexity in the middle, but for £75 I've had better. The finish is clean though and it's easy to drink, so it's not bad by any stretch. Just wouldn't rush to buy again at this price.
Solid but not mindblowing
Picked this up after seeing it recommended online. It's well made and I liked how precise everything felt — good acidity, nice fruit, pleasant finish. At 12.5% it's easy drinking too. Just didn't quite hit the heights I was expecting for the price point.
New favourite rosé champagne
I'm not usually a rosé champagne person but this has converted me. Right from the first sniff you can tell it means business — really confident aromas, nothing shy about it. The finish is clean and just makes you want another sip. Dangerous stuff honestly.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and wow, it really delivered. Beautiful pink colour and the bubbles are so fine and elegant. It's got this lovely crisp acidity that keeps you coming back for more. Not cheap at £75 but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny.
Great with seafood
The wine shop guy pointed me to this when I said I wanted something for a seafood dinner. Perfect call — the acidity cuts through richer dishes brilliantly. It's got weight to it without being heavy, which I really liked. Will definitely be picking this up again for entertaining.
Nice but steep price tag
Look, it's a good champagne, no question. Clean, well-made, and the fruit flavours are layered and interesting. But at nearly £75 I keep thinking I could get two decent bottles of something else for that money. Would happily drink it again if someone else is buying.
