Fonseca 2016 Vintage Port
Fortified 20% ABV ABV FonsecaGood but pricey
Bit expensive for what it is if I'm honest. It's a nice port, well structured and the fruit is lovely, but I've had ports at half the price that come close. Would maybe wait for a deal on this one.
Fonseca never lets you down
Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately wanted a bottle for myself. Really bold from the first pour — you can smell it across the table. Goes brilliantly with a cheese board at the end of the night.
Perfect after dinner drink
Picked this up on a recommendation from this site actually. Poured it after a roast and it was just the thing — big and generous but clean enough that it doesn't feel heavy. The finish goes on forever. Will definitely buy again when the budget allows.
Really solid vintage port
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something impressive for my dad's birthday. Really well balanced — sweet but not sickly, with a clean finish that keeps you coming back. Dad loved it, so mission accomplished.
Christmas dinner hero
Bought this for Christmas dinner and it absolutely stole the show. Rich and bold with loads of dark fruit, and that warmth at the end is so comforting without being boozy. At £77.50 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth it for a special occasion.
Decent port, nothing mind-blowing
Saw this on a wine list and thought I'd try it. It's good — nice long finish, plenty of fruit, properly structured. But at this price point I was expecting to be blown away and it was more like a solid 'yeah that's nice' reaction.
Wow this is smooth
For 20% ABV you genuinely cannot tell. It's warming but not harsh at all, which I find a lot of ports struggle with. Layers of flavour that keep changing as you sip. Treated myself after a promotion and zero regrets.
