Flint Vineyards Bacchus Fume 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Flint VineyardsSolid choice for a dinner party
Brought this to a friend's birthday and it went down well with everyone. Nice structure to it and the finish is clean without being boring. At nearly £25 it's not an everyday bottle but it's a good one for occasions.
Decent but a bit steep
It's a nice wine, don't get me wrong. Good depth and the acidity keeps things interesting. But £24.75 is a lot and I've had similar quality for less. Would drink it again if someone else was buying.
Good stuff from Flint
Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. It's well made — fruit and acidity in good balance, nothing out of place. The finish lingers nicely without overpowering. At 14% it's got some warmth to it so maybe not one for a hot day.
Not bad but expected more
Maybe my expectations were too high but this didn't wow me. It's perfectly fine — clean finish, decent structure. Just felt a bit safe for the price. My partner liked it more than I did so maybe it's just not my thing.
Great find!
Saw this on a wine list and thought I'd try something English for once. So glad I did! The nose is gorgeous, really inviting, and it just drinks so easily. Went back and ordered a second glass which tells you everything really. Going to order some for Christmas.
Flint Vineyards smashed it
The guy in my local wine shop recommended this and he was right. There's a real clarity to the aromatics that hits you straight away. Loads going on in the mid-palate too — proper layers of flavour that kept me going back for another sip. Loved it with a roast chicken.
Really nice English wine
Picked this up at a local wine fair and glad I did. Really expressive nose, loads of fruit but not in a jammy way. The balance is spot on — drank half the bottle before I even sat down for dinner. Would definitely buy again.
