Fleurie La Madone Chamonard 2020
Red 14% ABV ABV ChamonardReally impressed with this one
Bought this for a dinner party and it was a massive hit. Loads of dark cherry flavour and it just kept opening up in the glass. At £35 it's not cheap but everyone kept going back for more so I'd say worth it.
Nice but a bit pricey
The wine shop guy recommended this and it's perfectly nice — dark fruit, earthy bits, smooth finish. But £35 for a Beaujolais feels steep when you can get cracking ones for half that. I'd buy it again on offer but not full price.
Decent Friday night bottle
Saw this on a list somewhere and thought I'd give it a go. It's proper grown-up wine — dark fruity but with a savoury edge that I wasn't expecting. Went down well with some cheese and charcuterie. Would have it again but probably not every week at that price.
Solid Beaujolais
Had this at a friend's house and liked it enough to track down a bottle myself. It's got a bit of weight to it for a Fleurie — definitely felt the 14% — but the fruit keeps it balanced. Good with a lamb stew on a cold night.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself and no regrets. Smells amazing straight away — cherries and something almost floral. Really complex without being one of those wines you need a degree to appreciate. Loved it with a steak.
