Fernando de Castilla Classic Amontillado
Red 14% ABV ABV Fernando de CastillaAbsolutely loved this
Bought this on a whim from an online deal and wow. So much going on — the flavours just keep building with every sip and the finish is gorgeous without being over the top. Already ordered two more bottles. One of the best things I've had under £25.
Nice complexity for the money
I'm still learning about wine but this one stood out to me. There's a depth to it that I don't usually get at this price point. The acidity keeps everything fresh and it pairs well with harder cheeses. Pretty happy with it.
Solid choice for a dinner party
Brought this to a friend's birthday dinner and it went down well with everyone. Nice and balanced, not too heavy, with a clean finish that doesn't linger in a bad way. Good all-rounder but nothing that blew my mind.
Decent but expected more
It's fine. Pleasant enough nose and the flavours build nicely, but for nearly £22 I'd probably want a bit more wow factor. The finish is clean which I liked, but it felt a touch safe overall. Would drink it again if someone else was buying.
Really impressive for the price
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really layered and interesting — you keep finding new things as you drink it. At £22 it punches well above its weight. Will definitely be buying again.
My new go-to weeknight treat
Found this on a restaurant menu a few weeks back and tracked down a bottle for home. Love how expressive it is on the nose — you can smell it the second you pour. Goes brilliantly with a roast chicken. The 14% ABV sneaks up on you though!
