Essensia Orange Muscat 2022 / Andrew Quady
Orange 14% ABV ABV QuadyGreat find for something unusual
Saw this on a menu at a wine bar and had to try it. The orange muscat grape gives it this amazing perfumed nose that's unlike anything else I've drunk. There's a nice balance between the fruit and a bit of acidity that stops it being cloying. Bought a bottle to have at home and it's just as good.
Really interesting wine
Picked this up because I'd never tried an orange muscat before and wow, the smell alone is worth it. So floral and perfumed, almost like drinking a bouquet. At £14.50 it's a nice treat without breaking the bank. Had it with some cheese and crackers on a Friday night and it was perfect.
Not really my thing
My partner bought this for date night and it was a bit too sweet and perfumey for me honestly. I can see why some people would love it but I prefer something drier. The finish was nice though, not too lingering. Probably wouldn't buy it again at that price.
Decent dessert wine
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something different for a dinner party. It's very aromatic and floral which went down well with the guests. Good with fruit tart at the end of the meal. Not bad for £14.50 but I've had better at that price point.
Solid but won't blow your mind
Got this as a birthday present. It's pleasant enough — smells gorgeous and has some decent depth to it. At 14% it's got a bit of punch too. Just felt like it was missing that extra something to make it special. Would happily drink it again if someone poured me a glass though.
Absolutely loved this
I'm fairly new to wine beyond supermarket stuff and this was a revelation. The floral smell hit me as soon as I poured it and the taste has all these layers I wasn't expecting. Clean finish too, none of that weird aftertaste cheap wine gives you. Already ordered another bottle.
