Emilio Hidalgo La Panesa Fino NV

Bought this for a dinner party and served it chilled alongside seafood starters. It's got a lovely sharpness to it, really brisk and refreshing, and the savoury finish lingers nicely without being overpowering. My friends who said they don't like sherry were reaching for seconds. Would definitely buy again for entertaining.
Nice but steep price
Got this as part of a sherry tasting we did for my mate's birthday. Really clean and dry with a proper yeasty, almost bread-like quality to it. Everyone enjoyed it but at nearly £60 I'm not sure I'd buy it again when there are decent Finos for half the price. Good stuff though, just not everyday drinking.
Changed my mind about sherry
I always thought sherry was that sweet stuff my nan drinks at Christmas but this is completely different. Really dry and crisp with a savoury kick that keeps you going back for more. Had it ice cold with some tapas and it was perfect. The 14% sneaks up on you though, fair warning.
Proper sherry, this one
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop wouldn't stop going on about it. He was right — it's bone dry, savoury, and has this almost salty tang that made me demolish half the bottle with some olives and marcona almonds. At sixty quid it's not cheap but honestly it's one of the best Finos I've had.
