Elemart Robion Petit Meslier 2019 Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Elemart RobionReally interesting champagne
My local wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something different from the usual big-name champagnes. The Petit Meslier grape is apparently quite rare and you can tell — it's got this focused, precise quality that's unlike anything I've had before. Lovely acidity that keeps it fresh and lively.
Perfect with seafood
Had this with oysters and grilled prawns at a friend's place and it was unreal. There's a tautness to the acidity that cuts through rich food perfectly. Each sip kept revealing something new. Petit Meslier is my new favourite grape apparently!
Best champagne I've had in years
Someone brought this to a dinner party and I've been thinking about it ever since. It's got real structure and weight but stays so light and drinkable. The finish just lingers beautifully. Already ordered two bottles for myself.
Nice but not sure it's worth the price
Got this as a birthday present and it's definitely quality champagne. Clean, well-made, good acidity. But at this price point I'd probably expect to be more blown away than I was. My partner loved it more than me though so maybe I'm being harsh.
Elegant stuff
I'm still pretty new to champagne beyond the supermarket brands, but this felt like a real step up. You can smell it as soon as you pour — really expressive and confident. It's got more going on than anything else I've tried at this level. Saving the second bottle for Christmas.
Wow, just wow
Bought this for our anniversary and it was absolutely stunning. The bubbles are so fine and elegant, and there's this amazing depth to it that kept me going back for more. At £92 it's not cheap but honestly felt worth every penny for a special occasion.
Bit pricey but very good
Look, £92 is a lot for champagne when you can get decent stuff for half that. But I have to admit this is properly good — layered, complex, and the finish goes on forever. Would I buy it every week? No. For a birthday or celebration? Absolutely.
Incredible find
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and the sommelier talked us into it. So glad she did. It's got this beautiful balance where there's real depth and fruit but everything stays crisp and focused. The 12.5% ABV means you can actually enjoy a few glasses without feeling it too much.
