Duval-Leroy Femme de Champagne Brut Grand Cru NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Duval-LeroyClassy without being pretentious
Picked this up for New Year's Eve after reading about Duval-Leroy online. It's properly elegant — the kind of champagne that makes you slow down and actually pay attention to what you're drinking. Goes down dangerously easy at 12.5%. Already planning to get another bottle.
Best champagne I've had in ages
My wife got me this for my birthday and wow. It's so smooth and balanced — none of that harsh acidity you get with cheaper fizz. The finish just goes on and on. I'm not a champagne expert but I know when something's special and this is special.
Lovely but steep price
Had this at a friend's dinner party and really enjoyed it. Beautifully composed, proper depth to it, not just bubbles and nothing else. That said, £108 is a lot when you can get a solid champagne for half that. Would I buy it again? Maybe for Christmas.
The wine shop guy nailed it
Asked for something a step up from my usual Moët for a work celebration and the guy in the shop recommended this. So glad he did. It's got this quiet confidence about it — complex without being fussy. Everyone at the table commented on it.
Good but not sure it's £108 good
Don't get me wrong, this is a very nice champagne. Clean, well balanced, pleasant finish. But at this price point I'd probably expect it to completely blow me away and it didn't quite do that. I've had Grand Cru champagnes at £70-80 that came close to this.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our anniversary dinner and it was genuinely stunning. Really elegant bubbles, not aggressive at all, and it just kept revealing more the longer it sat in the glass. At £108 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration? Absolutely worth it.
