Drappier Quattuor Blanc de Quatre Blancs
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV DrappierThis is what champagne should taste like
I've been slowly working my way through different champagnes this year and this might be my favourite so far. Four different grape varieties and you can actually taste how they work together — it's complex without being confusing. The finish just lingers perfectly. Worth every penny.
Christmas present to myself
Treated myself to this over the holidays. It's proper champagne — none of that harsh fizz you get with cheaper stuff. Really clean taste with layers of fruit that kind of unfold as you sip. Paired it with some smoked salmon and it was perfect. Not an everyday buy at that price but a real treat.
Blanc de quatre blancs is a new one on me
Never heard of a four-grape blanc de blancs before so I was curious. Really glad I tried it — there's a complexity here that you don't get from a standard blanc de blancs. The acidity is spot on, the mousse is super fine, and at 12.5% it doesn't knock you sideways. Drappier know what they're doing.
Impressive but my wallet hurts
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something special for our anniversary. It's genuinely lovely — creamy bubbles, really layered flavour that changes as you drink it. At £110 though, it's firmly a special occasion bottle for me. Would I buy it again? For the right moment, absolutely.
Very good but not £110 good
Look, this is a nice champagne. Clean, well-balanced, proper fizz. But I've had bottles at half this price that I've enjoyed just as much. It's a bit pricey for what it is if I'm honest. If someone else is buying, great. Otherwise I'd probably stick with something cheaper.
Birthday champagne that actually delivered
Got this for my 40th and wow, it lived up to the price tag. Really elegant bubbles, not aggressive like some champagnes, and there's this lovely depth to it that kept me going back for more. My wife said it was the best champagne she's had outside of France.
Tried it at a restaurant, had to find a bottle
Saw this on the menu at a fancy place in London and ordered it by the glass. Really liked how fresh and crisp it was but still had real substance to it. Tracked down a bottle afterwards. It's the kind of champagne that makes you slow down and actually pay attention to what you're drinking.
Served this at our dinner party
Opened this for a dinner party with friends and it was the star of the evening. Everyone kept commenting on how smooth and precise it tasted. Fine bubbles, lovely weight to it but not heavy at all. One friend who normally only drinks prosecco said it converted her.
