Drappier Blanc de Blanc Signature NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV DrappierSolid Blanc de Blancs
Had this at a friend's dinner party and liked it enough to track down a bottle myself. Really well balanced — enough acidity to keep it fresh but there's proper depth there too. Not one of those Champagnes that's all fizz and no substance.
Nice but bit steep
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit different from Moët. It's good, don't get me wrong — precise and elegant with a lovely long finish. But nearly sixty quid is a lot when you can get perfectly decent Champagne for £35-40.
Decent for a dinner party
Served this with some starters and it went down well with everyone. It's got good structure and the acidity cuts through richer food nicely. A couple of friends asked what it was so that's always a good sign. I'd say it's reliable rather than exciting, if that makes sense.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. Loads of tiny bubbles and it's got this crisp, clean thing going on that just makes you keep sipping. At £57 it's not cheap but for a special occasion Champagne it's absolutely worth it.
My new favourite Champagne
I'm not hugely knowledgeable about Champagne but I know what I like, and I really liked this. It's all Chardonnay grapes apparently which gives it that lighter, more focused style. The finish just lingers in the best way. Treated myself after a promotion and no regrets.
Goes down dangerously easy
Picked this up for New Year's Eve and honestly it was gone before midnight. Really clean and fresh, not too heavy at 12.5%, and it's got this thing where the flavour sort of builds and gets more interesting as you drink it. Would definitely buy again.
