Expected more for the money

Got this as a birthday present for myself after reading good things about Doyard. The green apple and hazelnut on the finish were nice and the bubbles are very fine, but the mid-palate felt a bit samey to me. Not bad at all, just thought a Premier Cru would wow me more than it did.

Lovely bottle for a special night

Bought this for our anniversary dinner and it went down really well. You get this gorgeous biscuity, baked apple thing on the nose and the bubbles are super fine and creamy. At nearly £58 it's not an everyday buy but for a celebration it felt worth it.

Solid champagne, nothing crazy

The wine shop guy recommended this as a good Côte des Blancs champagne and he wasn't wrong. It's got that chalky minerality thing going on and the finish is long with a nice toasty hazelnut note. Good but not sure I'd rush to buy it again at this price.

My new favourite champagne find

I'm still fairly new to champagne but this Doyard is absolutely lovely. It's 100% Chardonnay and you can really taste the elegance — stone fruit, a bit of lemon peel, and this salty mineral thing on the finish that keeps you going back for more. Treated myself and zero regrets.

Really enjoyed this with dinner

Picked this up for a dinner party and everyone commented on how good it was. Really creamy bubbles, buttery pastry flavours, and it stayed fresh throughout the meal. Paired brilliantly with some smoked salmon starters. Would buy again for hosting.

Good not great

Saw this on a restaurant menu and decided to try a bottle at home. It's well made — nice biscuity nose, creamy texture, decent length. But at 12% ABV and £57 I feel like there are champagnes with a bit more punch and personality in that range. Perfectly fine though.

Nice but overpriced honestly

It's a decent champagne, don't get me wrong — the apple and nutty flavours are nice and it's smooth. But for close to sixty quid I expected something that would blow me away and it just didn't. I've had cheaper blanc de blancs that I enjoyed more.
