Dosnon Recolte Zero Dosage NV Champagne: Elegance Worth Celebrating
Champagne 12% ABV ABV DosnonNice but not sure it's worth £50
The guy at the wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something a bit different for a dinner party. It's good — really dry and chalky, almost mineral-y if that makes sense. But for nearly £50 I expected to be a bit more blown away. I'd probably pick a decent Crémant for half the price next time.
Great with food
Had this at a restaurant and liked it so much I tracked down a bottle. It's bone dry with green apple and a sort of biscuity thing going on. Went brilliantly with some smoked salmon starters we did. Pure Pinot Noir apparently which I didn't know you could even do with Champagne.
My new favourite fizz
I'm slowly getting into Champagne and this Dosnon is absolutely lovely. The bubbles are really fine and delicate, and there's this almond and lemon curd flavour that keeps you coming back to it. That chalky dry finish is so moreish. Already ordered another bottle for Easter.
Proper Champagne this
Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. You get that lovely toasty bread smell when you pour it, and it's got this crisp lemony thing going on that just makes you want another glass. Zero dosage so no added sugar — dry as anything but in a good way. At fifty quid it's not cheap but honestly it's better than most Champagnes I've had at that price.
