Domaine Lagille Grande Reserve NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV LagilleGood but not mind-blowing
Decent champagne. Clean, balanced, nice bubbles. But at nearly £57 I was expecting to be a bit more wowed? It's perfectly pleasant and I'd happily drink it again, just not sure it stands out from other champagnes in that price range.
New favourite for celebrations
I don't know loads about champagne but I know what I like and this is properly lovely. Smells amazing straight out of the bottle and it's got this sort of richness to it without being heavy. Had it with some nibbles on our anniversary and it was perfect. The 12.5% is nice too, didn't feel rough the next morning!
Bit pricey for what it is
It's a nice champagne, don't get me wrong. The acidity is clean and it's got good fruit. But I've had NV champagnes at £35-40 that I've enjoyed just as much. If you're not fussed about price then go for it, but I probably wouldn't rebuy when there are cheaper options out there.
Punches above its weight
Saw this on a restaurant menu and took a chance on it. So glad I did. There's a real complexity here that unfolds as you drink — not one of those champagnes that tastes the same start to finish. Tracked down a bottle to have at home and it's just as good. Really impressive stuff from Lagille.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this for my 40th and honestly it was the highlight of the night. Really elegant bubbles, not harsh at all, and there's this lovely depth to it that kept me going back for another sip. At £57 it's not cheap but for a special occasion? Absolutely worth it.
Solid champagne, nice complexity
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. First pour is really aromatic and inviting — you can tell it's a well-made blend. The acidity is spot on and there's a layered quality to it that I really enjoyed. Would buy again for sure.
Great dinner party pick
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone commented on it. It's got a really confident smell right when you open it and the taste has this nice balance between fruity and crisp. The finish lingers just enough without being too much. Big hit all round.
