Domaine La Borderie Douce Folie Extra Brut Rose NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV La BorderieThis is what rosé champagne should taste like
I've been getting more into champagne this year and this is one of the best rosés I've tried. Structured and serious but still really enjoyable to drink. The red fruit on the nose is gorgeous and the finish just goes on and on. Proper stuff.
Brought this to a dinner party
Took a chance on this instead of the usual Veuve or Moët for a dinner party and people were really impressed. The colour is beautiful pale pink and it tastes properly dry with clear red fruit flavours. One friend who knows way more about wine than me said La Borderie are really underrated which made me feel smug.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's birthday because she loves rosé champagne and wow, it did not disappoint. Really dry and crisp with lovely red fruit flavours — not sweet at all which we both prefer. At £61 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny.
Perfect aperitif champagne
Picked this up after seeing it on a restaurant wine list and wanting to try it at home. The extra brut style is right up my street — bone dry with proper fruit flavour coming through, not just acid. Poured it before dinner with some olives and it was spot on.
Great find from a small producer
The guy at my local wine shop recommended La Borderie and said they're a smaller family champagne house. Really clean and precise, you can taste the red berries clearly without any of that heavy biscuity thing some champagnes have. Would definitely buy again for a nice dinner.
Solid champagne, nothing to complain about
Decent rosé champagne. Dry, clean finish with some mineral character, good acidity. At 12.5% it doesn't feel heavy at all which I liked. I enjoyed it but probably wouldn't rush to buy another bottle at this price when there are other options I'd want to explore first.
Nice but a bit steep
Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was lovely — dry, fresh, nice minerally finish. But then I looked up the price and £62 is a lot when you can get decent champagne for £35-40. Good wine, just not sure it's nearly-twice-the-price good.
