Domaine Guillerault-Fargette Sancerre Les Panseillots 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV Guillerault-FargetteReally impressed with this one
Picked this up from our local wine shop after the guy behind the counter recommended it. For a Sancerre red it's got loads going on — really expressive fruity nose straight out of the bottle. At 14% it could easily be too heavy but it's not, the acidity keeps everything in balance. Would definitely buy again.
Not really my thing
I'm more of a simple Malbec person so maybe this just isn't for me. It's clearly well made and the nose is nice but I found it a bit serious for a Tuesday night in front of the telly. At over £30 I want something I can just enjoy without thinking too much. My partner loved it though so maybe I'm the problem here.
Nice wine, drinks easy
Saw this on a restaurant menu and liked it enough to find a bottle for home. It's got a confident smell to it, like you know straight away it's going to be good. Smooth, balanced, and the aftertaste lingers nicely. Not an everyday buy at that price but great for a weekend.
Good not great
Decent wine but I was expecting a bit more for the price honestly. It smells great when you pour it and the finish is clean, but I've had Sancerre reds that excited me more. Would probably choose something else at the £30 mark.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my birthday and we opened it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder. Absolutely lovely pairing. There's a real depth to it and the fruit is ripe without being jammy. The 14% ABV doesn't hit you at all which is impressive. One of the better reds we've had this year.
Solid red, bit steep though
Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was lovely so tracked down a bottle myself. It's well-made, good structure, and the finish keeps you coming back for more. Only gripe is £31 feels a touch high — I've had comparable reds for less. Still, it's a nice treat bottle.
