First Impressions

Domaine Dujac Morey St Denis Rouge 2019 arrives at £125.00, and at this price point, expectations are rightly elevated. 75cl / 13.5% - The 2019 vintage in Burgundy was both challenging and highly regarded. This Morey-St-Denis showcases expressive notes of plum, cherry, a hint of tobacco, and wild.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Dujac is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers lifted aromas of red cherry, raspberry, and a delicate thread of spice and earthy minerality. Moving to the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with vibrant red fruit, earthy complexity, and a silky tannic framework. The finish is lengthy finish showing plum, leather, and warm spice that invites another sip.

Food Pairing and Serving

This pairs beautifully with roasted red meats, aged cheeses, and hearty stews. Serve at around 16-18°C, and consider decanting for 30 minutes to let the aromas fully develop.

Sophie Brennan VIPsAllowed - Expected more for £125
5/10

Bit disappointed if I'm honest. It's a perfectly nice Pinot Noir — cherry fruit, some cinnamon spice, smooth tannins. But I kept waiting for that moment where it all clicks and justifies the price tag. Never quite happened for me. Would rather spend £60 on two bottles of something else.

Isabella Rossi VIPsAllowed - Classy stuff for a birthday
6/10

Got this as a birthday present from my brother who knows way more about wine than me. Really liked the earthy savoury thing going on underneath the fruit. Felt like a proper grown-up wine. Not sure I'd buy it myself at that price but glad I got to try it.

Wei Zhang VIPsAllowed - Really lovely Burgundy

Picked this up for our anniversary dinner and it was a real treat. Beautiful cherry and raspberry on the nose, and the finish just goes on and on. Silky smooth tannins too. At £125 it's not an everyday wine but for a special occasion it delivered.

Adaobi Eze VIPsAllowed - Dujac just gets Pinot Noir
8/10

Saw this on a wine list and couldn't resist. The precision on the nose is gorgeous — pure raspberry and cherry without being jammy at all. And those silky tannins are classic Dujac. Yes it's pricey but this is proper Morey-Saint-Denis and you can taste the terroir. Had it with duck breast, absolutely lovely.

Ok so I'm still fairly new to Burgundy but this was really interesting. You get plum and leather on the finish that just keeps going. Opened it with some roast lamb and it was perfect. Expensive but I get why people love Dujac.

Sibel Nur VIPsAllowed - Solid Burgundy, not mindblowing

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something special for a dinner party. It's elegant for sure — red cherry, earthy notes, really smooth. But at this price point I wanted it to knock my socks off and it didn't quite get there. Still enjoyed it though.

Zoe Chen VIPsAllowed - Nice but overpriced honestly
5/10

Had this at a restaurant and it was good — lovely red fruit, bit of spice, nice and smooth. But for what you're paying I expected more wow factor. I've had Pinot Noirs at half the price that got me just as excited.
