Domaine des Buis Les Brumes 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV Buis LesNice enough, maybe not a rebuy
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a glass out of curiosity. It's well-made and structured nicely — clean finish too. Just not sure it stood out enough for me to hunt down a bottle at nearly thirty quid. Pleasant though, no complaints really.
Solid red, nothing to complain about
Bought this for a dinner party and it got a thumbs up from everyone at the table. Nice and balanced, not too heavy, not too light. At £27 it's not an everyday bottle but it's fair for the quality.
Absolutely loved this
OK so I'm not a wine expert by any stretch but this is genuinely one of the best reds I've had this year. It's got real depth and complexity without being one of those wines that feels like hard work to drink. The alcohol is 14% but it doesn't taste boozy at all. Already ordered another bottle.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from my local wine shop on a whim and glad I did. Really smooth for 14% — you genuinely can't tell it's that strong. The fruit flavours are there but not in your face, and it went down brilliantly with a lamb stew I made on Sunday.
Good but a bit steep
It's a perfectly nice wine — clean, well-made, decent depth to it. But honestly for £27 I expected something that'd blow me away a bit more. I've had French reds at £18 that gave me more excitement. Would drink again if someone else was buying though.
Birthday treat that delivered
My partner got me this for my birthday and it was lovely. The smell alone is gorgeous, really expressive and kind of layered? Each sip kept revealing something new. One of those wines where you realise the glass is empty way too quickly.
Recommended by the shop and they were right
The guy at the wine shop steered me towards this when I said I wanted something French and interesting. It's got a nice acidity that keeps it fresh and the finish sticks around in a good way. Had it with steak and it was a great match.
