Dmitri Volkov VIPsAllowed - Proper Saturday night wine
8/10

Bought this for a dinner party and it was the star of the evening. Massive plum and dark fruit flavours, and you can definitely taste the herbs — almost like a Provençal stew in a glass. It's 15% so it creeps up on you, but honestly it doesn't taste boozy at all. Would absolutely buy again.

Luna Chavez VIPsAllowed - Great with lamb shanks
7/10

The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and he wasn't wrong. Really rich and warming, blackberry and spice all the way through. Made lamb shanks the same night and it was a perfect match. Solid Châteauneuf.

Nice enough wine, loads of dark fruit and a chocolatey thing going on that I liked. But at nearly fifty quid I expected to be blown away and I wasn't quite. Tannins are a bit grippy too — maybe needs more time? I'd grab it on offer but not at full price.

Yuki Nakamura VIPsAllowed - Birthday treat that delivered
8/10

Got this as a birthday present to myself because I've always wanted to try a decent Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The vanilla and dark chocolate notes are gorgeous and it's got this long, spicy finish that just keeps going. Felt like a proper treat — sat with it for a good hour and it kept getting better.

Kwame Mensah VIPsAllowed - Decent CDP, bit hot though
7/10

Saw this on a restaurant list and ordered a bottle. Loads of plum and dried herbs which I enjoyed, and the tannins are smooth enough. You can feel the 15% alcohol a bit on the finish though, especially by the second glass. Still a solid wine, just have some food with it.
