Domaine Bohn Le Coup de Jus 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV BohnSolid red, nice finish
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something interesting under £30. It's got a clean finish that kind of lingers nicely without being overpowering. Good with a roast lamb, worked well on a Sunday evening.
Nice but a bit steep
It's a good wine, don't get me wrong, but £28 feels a touch high for what you're getting. There's decent fruit and the acidity is spot on, but I've had similar quality French reds for less. Would probably grab it on offer though.
Really impressed with this one
Bought this for a dinner party and it was a genuine hit. Really deep and complex for the price — everyone kept commenting on how smooth it was. At 14% you'd expect it to be a bit heavy but it's surprisingly well balanced. Would definitely buy again.
Goes down dangerously easy for 14%
Had this with a pasta night and nearly finished the whole bottle before I remembered it's 14%. Doesn't taste boozy at all which is impressive. Nice depth to it and a really clean finish. Solid pick.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present from my partner who knows way more about wine than I do. Really aromatic when you pour it — the smell alone had me excited. Genuinely layered and interesting, felt like a proper grown-up wine. Loved it with steak.
One of my favourites this year
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it on a whim. So glad I did — it's got this generous, expressive thing going on from the first glass. There's real complexity here that you don't always get at this price point. Tracked down a bottle for home the next week.
