Dom Ruinart Rosé 2009 Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV RuinartConverted me to rosé Champagne
I always thought rosé Champagne was a bit gimmicky until someone opened one of these at a dinner party. It's got real substance to it, not just pretty pink fizz. The acidity and fruit work so well together. At 12.5% it's dangerously easy to drink for something this good.
Best rosé Champagne I've ever had
Had this at a friend's wedding and immediately went and tracked down a bottle for myself. There's a depth to it that most rosé Champagnes just don't have — it's serious without being stuffy. The finish goes on forever. Dom Ruinart absolutely nailed this one.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our 10th anniversary dinner and wow, it delivered. The red fruit flavours are so clear and layered — you keep finding new things as you sip. At £249 it's not an everyday buy obviously, but for a proper occasion it's hard to beat.
Birthday treat that didn't disappoint
My partner got me this for my 40th and it was incredible. So much going on compared to regular Champagne — proper layers of fruit and this clean, lasting finish that makes you slow down and actually pay attention. The 2009 vintage clearly had some magic in it.
Good but I expected more at this price
Saw this on a restaurant menu and splurged. It's nice — clean, well-made, lovely red fruit notes and a finish that sticks around. But for what you're paying I thought it would completely blow me away, and it didn't quite get there. Maybe I overhyped it in my head.
Lovely but hard to justify the price
Tried this at a wine bar and it's genuinely beautiful — really elegant red fruit, great acidity, long finish. But £249 a bottle? I've had rosé Champagnes at half the price that got me 80% of the way there. One for when someone else is paying.
Impressive stuff
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something special for Christmas. It's definitely a step up from your usual fizz — more complex, more serious. Really balanced too, not too sweet or too dry. Just wish it wasn't quite so expensive.
