Dom Ruinart 2010 Blanc de Blancs Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV RuinartBest champagne I've ever had
My wife got this for my 50th birthday and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. So elegant and refined without being showy. The finish just goes on and on. I don't usually rate things 10 but this genuinely earned it.
Lovely but hard to justify the price
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it's undeniably gorgeous — real depth to it, beautifully balanced between fruit and that crisp acidity. But £249 is a LOT for champagne when there are solid options at half that. If someone else is buying, absolutely say yes though.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought this for our 10th anniversary dinner and wow, it did not disappoint. Really layered and complex — you keep noticing new things as you drink it. Not your typical bubbly that's all fizz and no substance. At £249 it's a serious purchase but for a once-in-a-while treat, absolutely worth it.
Really nice but maybe overhyped?
Got recommended this by the guy at my local wine shop. It's definitely high quality — smooth, complex, lovely long finish. But I've had champagnes at £100-150 that got me nearly as excited. The 2010 vintage has aged well though and it's a proper grown-up drink. Just not sure it's £249 good for me personally.
The quiet confidence thing is real
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and decided to treat myself. It doesn't hit you over the head like some champagnes do — it's more subtle and pulls you in gradually. Blanc de Blancs done right basically. Went perfectly with our seafood starters. Would buy again if my bank account allowed it.
