Picked this up from the local wine shop on a whim and honestly really enjoyed it. The lychee flavour is proper upfront — you know exactly what you're getting. Nice and smooth, not too sweet, and at £11.95 it's a solid buy for a Friday night in.

Look it's fine, it does what it says on the tin. But I was hoping for something a bit more complex and it's basically just lychee wine that happens to be red. The structure is there and it's well made, I'll give it that, but at nearly £12 I'd probably spend the money on a proper Malbec or something instead.

Sophia Laurent VIPsAllowed - Not really my thing
5/10

My partner got this for a dinner party and it was fine but just a bit odd? Like it's a red wine but tastes tropical which threw me off. The finish was alright, no complaints there, but I think I'd rather just have a normal red for twelve quid.

Had this with a Thai takeaway and it actually worked really well. The sweetness balanced out the heat nicely. At 14% it's got a bit of punch to it too. Wouldn't buy it every week but I'd grab another bottle if we're doing curry night again.

Saw this recommended online somewhere and thought I'd give it a go. The lychee comes through really clearly on the nose and the taste has more going on than I expected — there's a bit of depth to it that surprised me. Clean finish too, nothing weird or cloying. Good value I reckon.
