Camila Ortiz VIPsAllowed - Really impressed with this one
8/10

Picked this up from a local wine shop on a whim and glad I did. Properly dark and fruity with a nice tannic grip — you can tell it's a serious Cahors without being heavy-handed. Had it with a slow-cooked beef stew and it was perfect. Would definitely buy again at £20.

The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something from southwest France and he nailed it. Really expressive nose, loads of dark fruit, and it opens up beautifully after 20 minutes. Paired it with lamb chops and it was spot on. £20.50 feels fair for the quality.

Ayako Hirano VIPsAllowed - Solid dinner party wine
7/10

Bought a couple of bottles for a dinner party and everyone enjoyed it. It's got that proper French structure to it with good dark berry flavours and a clean finish. At 14% it packs a punch too. Decent value, wouldn't hesitate to serve it to guests again.

I'm still fairly new to French reds but this might be my favourite so far. The flavours just keep coming in layers — dark berries, something almost savoury underneath. Bought it for a quiet Friday night in and ended up finishing the bottle way too quickly. Already ordered more.

7/10

Had this with a ribeye on my birthday and it did the job nicely. Good firm tannins and enough fruit to keep it interesting without being jammy. Finish is clean and makes you want another glass. Not a wine that'll blow your mind but it's honest and well made.

Rosa Paredes VIPsAllowed - Good but a bit much for me
6/10

Found this a bit too tannic for my taste honestly. The dark fruit flavours are nice and it smells great straight out of the bottle, but I think I prefer something a bit softer. Might work better with food — I was just drinking it on its own. Not bad for £20 but I've had ones I liked more for less.
