Cuvee William Deutz 2013
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV William DeutzClassy stuff
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this when I said I wanted something a step up from my usual Moet. Night and day difference honestly. It's not showy at all, just quietly brilliant — structured and deep but still really easy to drink at 12.5%.
Good not great for the money
I'm probably in the minority here but while this is a very nice champagne I expected more for £164. The nose is lovely and complex and it drinks really well, clean and balanced. But I've had bottles at half the price that excited me more. Maybe I need to try it again with food.
Really good but ouch the price
Saw this on the wine list at a restaurant and thought why not. It's genuinely lovely — clean, precise, and seriously smooth with a long finish. But at £164 a bottle I'd have to think hard before buying it again when there are great champagnes for half that.
Best champagne I've ever had
My wife got me this for my 50th and I'm still thinking about it weeks later. So layered and interesting, every sip had something new going on. Perfectly balanced between crisp acidity and rich fruit. I don't give 10s lightly but this earned it.
Solid for a dinner party
Opened this at a dinner party with friends and everyone commented on it. It's got proper depth to it and the finish just lingers nicely. Only gripe is I wish I'd bought two bottles because it went fast. Would probably save it for special dinners rather than a Tuesday night.
Special occasion champagne
Bought this for our anniversary and wow, it really delivered. Super elegant with loads of complexity — you can just tell it's been aged for ages. The bubbles are fine and the finish goes on forever. Pricey at £164 but for a big occasion it's worth every penny.
