Cullen Mangan Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2024
White 12% ABV ABV Cullen ManganBirthday treat that delivered
Got this as a birthday present to myself and honestly it's one of the best whites I've had this year. There's so much going on in the middle, layers of flavour that keep revealing themselves. The sauvignon freshness with the semillon richness is a brilliant combo. Worth every penny.
Solid but not cheap
Good wine, no complaints really. Nice balance between the zippy sauv blanc side and something a bit richer from the semillon. At thirty quid though I'd want it to linger a bit longer on the finish. It just sort of... stops.
Love this blend
I'm a big fan of sauv blanc semillon blends and this one nails it. The freshness hits you first then there's this deeper layer underneath that keeps you going back for another sip. Only 12% too so you can have a couple glasses without writing off the evening.
Nice enough, nothing wild
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and ordered a glass. Pleasant, well-made white with good acidity and some depth to it. Clean finish. I wouldn't rush out to buy a bottle at home but I'd happily order it again if I spotted it on a menu.
Went down well at the BBQ
Not my usual style — I normally go for reds — but my partner grabbed this and I was pleasantly surprised. Really aromatic when you pour it, you can smell it straight away. Goes down easy, especially chilled on a warm day. Decent stuff.
Expected more for the price
Bought this for a dinner party thinking the Cullen name would impress. It's clean and well made, sure, but £30 for a white blend that doesn't really blow you away? I've had more interesting bottles for half the price. My guests enjoyed it though so maybe I'm being harsh.
Really nice summer white
Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really fresh and crisp but it's got this lovely weight to it that stops it being just another sauvignon blanc. Had it with some grilled fish and it was spot on. Would definitely buy again.
