Cremant de Limoux Monsieur S Etienne Fort
Sparkling 12.5% ABV ABV Etienne FortBirthday treat that delivered
My partner got this for my birthday and I really enjoyed it. Smells gorgeous — loads of character straight out of the bottle. The finish lingers nicely without being heavy. At 12.5% it's dangerously easy to drink too.
Good with food
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a bottle. Goes brilliantly with seafood — we had it with fish and chips actually and it worked a treat. Nice and precise, cuts through richer food really well. Would be good for a summer BBQ too.
Solid Cremant
Had this at a friend's house and liked it enough to track down a bottle myself. Well balanced, good fruit, clean acidity. It's not trying to be champagne and that's what I appreciate about it. Does its own thing well.
Great fizz for the money
Picked this up for a dinner party and it went down really well. Lovely bubbles, not too sweet, and it's got this nice depth to it that you don't always get with Cremant. At £25 it's a solid alternative to champagne and nobody complained.
Nice but not mindblowing
Decent sparkling wine. It's got good acidity and some interesting flavours going on in the middle — more complex than I expected from a Cremant de Limoux. Would buy again but wouldn't rush back for it either.
Pleasant enough
I'm still learning about wine so take this with a pinch of salt. It's nice fizz, smells good and tastes balanced. I just found it a bit understated for my taste — I tend to prefer something with a bit more sweetness. The quality is obviously there though.
Absolutely loved this
OK so I'm not a wine expert but this is genuinely one of the nicest sparkling wines I've had in ages. Really expressive nose, proper complexity when you drink it, and a finish that sticks around. Bought two more bottles the next day.
Bit pricey for what it is
The wine shop guy recommended this and it's fine, perfectly drinkable fizz with a clean finish. But nearly £25 for a Cremant? I've had comparable stuff from Lidl for half the price. The aromatics are nice though, I'll give it that.
