Good for the price

For under £8 you can't really complain. It's sweet but there's enough of that ginger kick to stop it being sickly. Had it warm on bonfire night and it was perfect for that. Wouldn't drink it with dinner but as a thing on its own it does the job.

Not really my thing

My nan loves this stuff so I tried it at Christmas. It's very sweet and gingery which I know is the point, but it just reminded me of drinking cough syrup a bit? The spice at the end was nice though. Might work better in a cocktail than on its own.

Decent but very specific

This is one of those love-it-or-hate-it drinks. The ginger is front and centre on the nose and the taste follows through with a lot of sweetness and spice. I found it more interesting than I was expecting — there's actual depth to it. Just don't go in thinking it's a normal wine because it really isn't.

Better than I expected honestly

Picked this up on a whim from Tesco for £7.50 and was pleasantly surprised. The ginger really comes through but it's not overpowering — there's a nice warmth to it that builds as you drink. Not something I'd have every day but it's a solid winter sipper.

Great with cheese actually

A mate brought this round for a dinner party and we ended up having it with the cheeseboard at the end. The spicy warmth goes really well with strong cheddar. At 14% it packs more of a punch than you'd think too. Would buy again for that combo.

Too sweet for me

Saw this in the shop and thought I'd try something different. The ginger flavour is nice enough and it finishes clean, but it's just too sweet overall. My girlfriend loved it though so maybe I'm not the target audience. At £7.50 it wasn't a disaster or anything.
