Collet Demi-Sec NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV ColletGreat dinner party champagne
Brought this to a friend's dinner party because I wanted something a bit different from the usual brut. Everyone commented on how good it was. It's got a confident nose — you can tell straight away it's well made. The sweetness is subtle, not in-your-face, and the finish is really clean.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my birthday and we cracked it open with dessert. The fruit comes through really nicely without being cloying, and there's a depth to it that kept us both going back for more. We finished the bottle embarrassingly fast.
Nice but a bit pricey
Got this as part of a mixed case from an online shop. It's good champagne, clean finish and genuinely interesting to drink, but at nearly £39 I'd probably reach for something else day to day. That said, the balance is impressive and it doesn't taste like drinking sugar water the way some demi-secs do.
Solid choice, not mind-blowing
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and said Collet is underrated. He's not wrong — it's a well-made demi-sec with proper acidity and decent complexity. I just think at this price point there's stiff competition. Good with spicy takeaway though, which I wasn't expecting.
Way better than expected for a demi-sec
Picked this up because I usually find demi-sec too sweet and wanted to give the category another chance. Really glad I did — it's not syrupy at all, the acidity keeps everything in check. Had it with some blue cheese after dinner and it was perfect. Would definitely buy again.
