Collet Brut 1er Cru Art Déco NV Champagne
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV ColletBirthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both really impressed. Lovely bubbles, proper depth to it — not just fizzy wine like some cheaper stuff. The acidity keeps it fresh and interesting all the way through. Would absolutely buy again for a special occasion.
Great with food
Opened this with a roast chicken dinner and it was perfect. The acidity cuts right through richer food and the finish is clean and lingering without being harsh. At 12.5% it's easy drinking too — we finished the bottle without even realising.
Good but not sure it's worth £42
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was nice — crisp, well balanced, decent complexity. But honestly at that price point I've had champagnes that excited me more. It's well made for sure, just didn't blow me away personally.
Decent champagne, bit understated
Picked this up for New Year's after reading about it online. It's good — nicely put together and smooth — but I was expecting a bit more punch for a Premier Cru. My partner loved it though so maybe it's just me. The finish is really pleasant, I'll give it that.
This one's a keeper
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and I'm so glad he did. There's real layers to it — starts bright and fruity then gets more interesting the longer it sits in the glass. Confident is the word I'd use. Already gone back for another bottle.
Solid champagne, nice bottle too
The Art Déco bottle design caught my eye in the shop and thankfully the wine lives up to it. Really expressive on the nose, fruity but not sweet, and it's got this clean finish that just makes you want another glass. At £42 it's not an everyday buy but it's fair for a Premier Cru.
