Really nice after-dinner port

The guy at Majestic recommended this when I said I wanted something for after dinner that wasn't too sweet. He was spot on — there's a nuttiness to it, almost like marzipan, and it finishes clean rather than sticky. Would definitely buy again.

Great with dark chocolate

Picked this up after reading the tasting notes on here and paired it with some 70% dark chocolate after a dinner party. Absolutely perfect combo. The almond and toffee flavours in the port work brilliantly with it. My wife who normally hates port actually finished her glass.

Blown away by this one

I'm fairly new to port but this has completely changed my mind about it. I always thought port was just syrupy sweet stuff your nan drinks, but this is genuinely complex — raisiny and chocolatey with a dry finish that makes you want another sip. Dangerous at 19% though, be warned.

Good but not sure about the price

It's a solid port, don't get me wrong. Nice dried fruit and caramel flavours and it goes down easy. But at £24 I'd probably want a bit more wow factor. My dad's £15 tawny honestly isn't that far off for everyday drinking.

Decent port, bit warming

Bought this as a birthday present for my father-in-law and we cracked it open together. It's nice — you get the dried apricot and chocolate coming through, and it's not cloyingly sweet which I liked. The 19% hits you after a couple of glasses though so pace yourself. Good but not mindblowing.

Christmas day winner

Bought this for Christmas dinner and it was the star of the cheese course. The toffee and chocolate thing going on is really lovely, and it's not sickly sweet like some ports I've had. At £24 it felt like a proper treat without breaking the bank.
