Idris Ibrahim VIPsAllowed - Understated and lovely
8/10

Not a flashy wine but that's what I liked about it. It's got quiet confidence — everything is in the right place and it doesn't need to shout. Saw it on a list at our local wine bar and glad I tried it. The mid-palate especially has loads going on if you pay attention.

Maxwell Green VIPsAllowed - Really classy stuff
8/10

Picked this up after reading about English wines and wow, Coates & Seely know what they're doing. There's a real confidence to it — not trying to be something it's not. Good structure, proper acidity, and it just keeps unfolding the more you drink it.

James Okafor VIPsAllowed - Converted me to English wine
9/10

I'll be honest I was sceptical about English wine but this completely won me over. So much personality in the glass and it's got this lovely long finish that just trails off gently. Bought two more bottles the next day.

Erik Strom VIPsAllowed - Perfect with Sunday roast
8/10

My partner got this as a gift and we opened it with a roast chicken. It's got real weight to it, more substance than I expected. The aromatics hit you straight away when you pour it. Really enjoyable and we polished off the bottle pretty quickly.

Astrid Nilsen VIPsAllowed - Great bottle for a dinner party
8/10

Served this at a dinner party last weekend and got loads of compliments. Really expressive on the nose, you can smell it as soon as you pour. The finish lingers nicely too. Would definitely buy again for entertaining.

Suki Patel VIPsAllowed - Proper English fizz
9/10

Bought this for my wife's birthday and we were both really impressed. It's got so much going on — layers of flavour that keep changing as you sip it. At £36.50 it's not cheap but honestly it beats a lot of champagnes I've had at double the price.

Elena Morozova VIPsAllowed - Nice but bit pricey
7/10

The wine shop guy recommended this and it's good, don't get me wrong. Nicely balanced with proper depth to it. But £36.50 is a lot and I'm not sure it's that much better than some £25 bottles I've had. Maybe I'd splash out for a special occasion.

Rafael Santos VIPsAllowed - Solid but not mind-blowing
7/10

Had this at a restaurant and thought it was decent. Well made, good balance of fruit and acidity, clean finish. It's a competent wine but at this price point I wanted to be a bit more wowed than I was.
