Cloudy Bay Pinot Noir 2023
Red 14% ABV ABV Cloudy BayDecent, not mind-blowing
Picked this up because I know Cloudy Bay from their Sauvignon Blanc. The Pinot is fine — nice cherry flavours, well made, easy drinking. Just expected a bit more character at this price point honestly.
Really impressed with this one
Bought this for a dinner party and it went down incredibly well. Loads of cherry and plum on the nose, and it drinks really smoothly — you wouldn't guess it's 14%. Definitely buying again.
Absolutely smashed this bottle
Saw this on a menu on holiday and ordered it on a whim. So glad I did. Rich berry fruit, smooth as anything, and that little hit of spice at the end is lovely. Went straight home and ordered a case online.
Nice but a bit pricey
It's a perfectly good Pinot Noir — cherry fruit, smooth finish, easy to drink. But for £36.50 I feel like you can find similar quality for less. Would drink it again if someone else was buying.
Solid Pinot from NZ
Had this at a restaurant and liked it enough to track down a bottle. Nice dark berry flavours and the tannins are really silky. Good balance overall, though at £36 I'd save it for occasions rather than a Tuesday night.
Birthday treat that delivered
My partner got me this for my birthday and wow. The plum and cherry flavours are gorgeous and there's this lovely spicy note right at the end. One of the better Pinots I've had in a while.
Great with lamb
The guy in the wine shop recommended this to go with a roast leg of lamb and he was spot on. It's got enough depth and fruit to stand up to red meat but it's not heavy at all. Clean finish too.
Cloudy Bay does it again
Really well put together. You get the dark fruit and a bit of earthiness that keeps it interesting. Shared it with friends over pizza and everyone kept topping up their glasses, which says it all really.
