Clos Mogador 2021 / Priorat
Red 14% ABV ABV Clos MogadorKeeps getting better in the glass
Opened this on a Friday night and almost put it aside after the first sip because it seemed a bit tight. Came back to it an hour later and it had completely opened up — gorgeous dark berries and dried herbs with a long, clean finish. Give it time and air, it rewards patience. Would buy again if my wallet allows it.
The real deal from Priorat
Wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something serious for a dinner party. Glad I listened. Poured it with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder and it was a perfect match — savoury herbs, dark fruit, firm tannins that softened up nicely with food. Everyone at the table commented on it.
Great wine, hard to justify the price
Had this at a restaurant in Barcelona last year and loved it so much I tracked down a bottle back home. It's properly good — big and structured with loads of dark berry and spice, and something almost stony underneath. But £78 is steep and I think you can find Priorat that gets you 80% of the way there for half the price.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife got me this for my 40th and wow, it's special. Really rich dark fruit and herbs, almost like a Mediterranean garden in a glass. The finish just goes on and on. At nearly £80 it's not an everyday bottle but for a big occasion it's absolutely worth it.
