Clément & Fils Les Cornambeaux 2017 Champagne / Blanc de Blancs
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Clément & FilsSolid Champagne, would buy again
The wine shop guy steered me toward this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the usual Moët. Really clean on the finish and nicely balanced — not too sweet, not too sharp. It's got this lovely freshness that makes you want to keep sipping.
This one's a keeper
I've been getting more into grower Champagnes lately and Clément & Fils is exactly why. The aromatics hit you straight away — really precise and defined. Loads going on in the mid-palate too, fruit and acidity playing off each other perfectly. Opened it with some oysters and honestly couldn't have been happier.
Good not mindblowing
Decent Blanc de Blancs. Clean, well made, generous without being flabby. I enjoyed it but at this price point I've had bottles that excited me more. That said the finish is really clean and it's very easy drinking for a Champagne — went down dangerously fast between two of us.
Lovely with fish and chips weirdly
Picked this up after seeing it recommended somewhere online. Really refreshing and the finish just lingers in a nice way without being heavy. We ended up drinking it with Friday fish and chips and it was surprisingly perfect. The acidity cuts right through.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. Really crisp and fresh but there's proper depth to it too — kept getting more interesting the longer it sat in the glass. At £61 it's not cheap but for a special occasion Blanc de Blancs it's honestly great value.
Nice but a bit steep
Had this at a friend's dinner party and it was good, don't get me wrong. Proper structured Champagne with some real complexity going on. But at over sixty quid I'd probably reach for a decent Crémant most of the time and save the difference.
