Benjamin Ross VIPsAllowed - Really impressed with this one
8/10

Picked this up from Majestic on a whim and glad I did. Lovely dark fruit, proper structure to it, and it opened up beautifully after about an hour. Had it with a slow-cooked beef shin and it was a perfect match. At £32.50 it's not an everyday bottle but it's worth it for a weekend treat.

Not bad but I think you can do better for £32. It's got nice dark fruit and a savoury thing going on which I liked, but it felt like it needs a few more years really. Might be one to stick in the rack and forget about for a while.

Marcus Chen VIPsAllowed - Birthday bottle that delivered
8/10

My wife got me this for my birthday and we absolutely loved it. Rich and deep with this earthy quality that kept me coming back for another sip. The finish just lingers in the best way. We had it with steak and it was spot on. Already looking at getting another to put away for a couple of years.

Bought this for a dinner party and it went down well. Big and earthy with a bit of warmth from the 14% alcohol, but it handles it fine. Tannins are still quite firm so I'd say give it some time in the glass or even decant it. Good wine, not sure I'd rush to rebuy at the price though.
