Chateau De Plaisance Anjou Ronceray 2021
Red 14% ABV ABV Chateau De PlaisanceSolid Loire red
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something from the Loire that wasn't Muscadet or Sancerre. It's got proper structure and the fruit is ripe without being jammy. Good stuff but at £32 I'd save it for a special occasion.
Decent red, no fuss
I liked that you can just pour this and drink it without waiting around for it to open up. It's generous but not over the top. The 14% ABV is well hidden which is always a plus. Would pair it with a steak or a hearty pasta.
Absolutely loved this bottle
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it on a whim. So glad I did. There's real depth and complexity in the middle — layers of flavour that kept me coming back for more. Tracked down a bottle online the next week. It's not cheap but it's worth it.
Nice but a bit steep
Got this as a birthday present. It's pleasant enough — smells great straight out of the bottle and has a long finish. But honestly for north of £30 I expected something that would blow me away and it didn't quite get there.
Really impressed with this
Bought this for a dinner party and it was a hit. Really rich and full-bodied but not heavy if that makes sense? The acidity keeps it fresh even though it's 14%. Would definitely buy again.
Perfect with lamb
Had this with slow-cooked lamb shoulder on a Sunday and it was bang on. Loads of fruit on the nose, you can tell it's a warm vintage. Really well balanced and the finish just keeps going. One of the better Anjou reds I've tried.
