Chateau de Pibarnon Bandol Rose 2023
Rosé 12% ABV ABV PibarnonFinally a rosé worth talking about
I'm usually a red wine person but this Bandol completely changed my mind about rosé. There's actual depth and complexity here — stone fruit, a bit of saltiness, and a finish that actually sticks around. Bought it for my birthday dinner and zero regrets. Not cheap but you can taste why.
Best rosé I've had in ages
Picked this up for a bank holiday BBQ and honestly it stole the show. There's this lovely salty, almost seaside thing going on with stone fruit underneath — way more interesting than your average pink wine. Definitely has some weight to it without being heavy. Yeah it's £40 but I'd buy it again for a special occasion.
Proper grown-up rosé
Had this at a friend's dinner party and immediately asked where she got it. It's got this herby, fruity thing with a mineral edge that just keeps going. We had it with grilled fish and it was perfect. At 12% it's not too boozy either so you can have a couple of glasses without falling asleep on the sofa.
Nice but steep price
My wife grabbed this from our local wine shop on the guy's recommendation. It's good, don't get me wrong — really clean finish and more going on than most rosés I've tried. But £40 for a rosé is a hard sell when there are decent ones for half that. Would maybe get it again as a treat.
