My partner got me this as a gift and wow. From the first pour you can smell everything clearly — dark fruit, something earthy underneath. It's got depth but stays really drinkable and the finish just keeps going. Already ordered two more bottles. One of the best reds I've had this year.

Picked this up after the guy at my local wine shop recommended it. Really earthy and honest — no oak bomb nonsense, just proper fruit with some depth to it. Went perfectly with a slow-cooked lamb shoulder. At £30 it's not an everyday bottle but I'd definitely buy it again for a nice weekend dinner.

Penelope Hart VIPsAllowed - Proper French red, no nonsense

This is exactly what I want from a Chinon. Earthy, direct, proper fruit character and nothing trying too hard. The 2022 vintage clearly had some warmth to it because there's real weight in the middle but it stays fresh. Had it with steak and it was spot on.

Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was decent. Nice structure and it's got a bit of weight to it without being heavy, which I liked. Bit pricey for what it is though — I'd want to get it closer to £25 before I'd grab a bottle myself.

Not usually a Loire red person but saw this on a restaurant menu and gave it a go. Pleasant surprise — I liked how it opens up after sitting in the glass for a bit. Bought a bottle to have at home and it went great with a pasta bake. Solid wine.

Bought this for my birthday dinner hoping for something special. It's fine — clean, balanced, drinks well enough. But at nearly £30 I was expecting a bit more wow factor. The finish is nice and it's easy drinking, just didn't blow me away.
