Charles Hours Jurancon Uroulat 2020
Red 14% ABV ABV Charles HoursGood but not amazing
Bit pricey for what it is honestly. It's a perfectly fine red, clean finish and decent fruit, but at nearly £28 I expected to be wowed. I've had similar quality French reds for less. Not bad though, just not a repeat purchase for me.
Decent midweek upgrade
The wine shop guy talked me into this instead of my usual and fair enough, it's a step up. Clean and well put together, nothing clumsy about it. The 14% ABV sneaks up on you though so watch out on a school night. Would grab another bottle if it was on offer.
Birthday treat that delivered
My wife bought this for my birthday dinner and it was a proper treat. Confident flavours right from the first glass and it held up beautifully through a roast lamb. The finish just lingers in the best way. One of those wines where you keep going back for another sip.
Solid French red for the money
Got this for a Friday night in with my partner. It's well-balanced and has a nice depth to it — not one of those thin reds that taste like nothing. £28 feels about right, maybe slightly high but the quality is there.
Really impressed with this one
Picked this up from a local wine shop on recommendation and I'm glad I did. Really expressive nose, you can smell it as soon as you pour. The acidity keeps it fresh and interesting, and at 14% it doesn't feel heavy at all. Would definitely buy again.
Nice find from Jurançon
Saw this on a menu at a French restaurant and ordered a bottle to try at home afterwards. It's got real character — you can tell whoever made this took their time. Good structure and the acidity keeps things lively. Went great with a cheese board.
Absolutely loved this
I don't know much about Jurançon wines but this has made me want to explore more. The aromatics hit you straight away and every sip has something going on. Smooth finish, no harshness at all. Brought it to a dinner party and everyone asked what it was.
