Charles Fox Brut Reserve NV
Red 14% ABV ABV Charles FoxReally impressed with this one
Picked this up from a local wine shop on a recommendation and glad I did. Proper depth to it — not just fruity for the sake of it. The balance between the fruit and acidity is spot on, and at £21.75 it feels like good value for something this well put together.
Decent enough
The wine shop guy talked me into this but I think I prefer something a bit fruitier honestly. It's well made and I can tell it's quality, but it's a bit serious for my taste. Would probably suit someone who's more into their wines than I am. Not bad though, just not really my thing.
Good but not blown away
It's fine. Bit pricey for what it is if I'm honest — over twenty quid and I was expecting a bit more wow factor. That said, it's well made and the finish is clean. Just didn't grab me the way I hoped.
Solid choice for a dinner party
Brought this to a friend's birthday dinner and it went down well with everyone. Nice structure, not too heavy despite being 14%. The finish sticks around just long enough to make you want another sip. Would buy again but probably not my everyday wine.
Nice with a roast
Had this with a Sunday roast and it paired really well — enough acidity to cut through the richness. I'm not great at describing wine but it just tasted like everything was in the right place. Nothing too sharp, nothing too sweet. My partner said it smelled amazing before we even poured it.
Charles Fox nailed it
Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered a bottle on a whim. The nose alone had me excited before I even tasted it. Loads of complexity going on, layers of flavour that kept revealing themselves. The 14% ABV doesn't show at all which is impressive. Already tracked down a couple more bottles online.
