Champagne Valentin Leflaive Brut Rose MA1660 NV
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Valentin LeflaiveBirthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both really impressed. Lovely pink colour, proper fizz, and it just tasted clean and fresh without being too sharp. At £57 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it felt worth every penny. We finished the bottle way too fast.
Went down a storm at our dinner party
Served this as an aperitif before a roast and every single person commented on it. Really aromatic when you first pour it — you can smell it straight away which I loved. Paired surprisingly well with the starter too. Clean finish that made you want another glass immediately.
Good but not sure it's £57 good
Had this at a friend's house and thought it was very pleasant. Nice bubbles, easy to drink, and I liked that it wasn't too heavy. But honestly I've had rosé champagnes at £35-40 that I enjoyed just as much. Bit pricey for what it is if I'm being honest.
This is the real deal
I've been getting more into champagne this year and this is one of the best rosés I've tried. There's a real depth to it, not just fizzy pink wine like some cheaper ones. The fruit and acidity are properly balanced and it's got decent complexity for something so drinkable. Côte des Blancs producers really know what they're doing.
Perfect for our anniversary
Picked this up for a quiet anniversary dinner at home and it was spot on. Not too boozy at 12.5%, so we could enjoy it through the whole meal without feeling rough the next day. Really elegant stuff — it doesn't hit you over the head, just draws you in quietly. Would make a great gift for someone who appreciates champagne.
Solid rosé champagne
The wine shop guy steered me toward this when I said I wanted something a bit different from the usual Moët. Really nice balance to it — fruity but not sweet, and the acidity keeps everything lively. Would definitely buy again for a nice dinner at home.
Nice enough, expected more though
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and ordered it because I hadn't tried Valentin Leflaive before. It's perfectly fine — clean, well-made, pleasant finish. Just didn't blow me away the way I hoped at this price point. I'd say it's a solid 7, nothing wrong with it but nothing that really stood out either.
