Champagne Vadin-Plateau Origines NV
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV Vadin-PlateauProper champagne, not just fizz
The guy at my local wine shop recommended this and he wasn't wrong. There's actual complexity here — you keep noticing new things as you drink it. Fine bubbles too, none of that aggressive fizz you get with cheaper stuff.
Solid choice, nothing to complain about
Picked this up for New Year's and it went down well. Good balance of fruit and acidity, nice long finish. Decent champagne — I just personally prefer something a bit more toasty at this price point.
Good but a stretch at this price
Nice champagne, genuinely enjoyable, but I'm not sure it's £50 good. The acidity is really clean and it's got more going on than most NVs I've tried. Would probably buy again if it was on offer.
Went perfectly with our seafood starter
We had this with oysters and prawns and it was spot on. Clean, precise, with enough substance that it doesn't just vanish the moment you swallow. Vadin-Plateau clearly know what they're doing. Would happily buy again for a nice meal at home.
Birthday treat that delivered
Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both blown away. Really expressive bubbles with a clean finish that just kept going. At fifty quid it's not cheap but honestly felt worth every penny for a special occasion.
This is what champagne should taste like
Had this at a restaurant and immediately looked it up to buy a bottle for home. Properly structured with beautiful fruit and a mousse that's incredibly fine. I'm not a wine expert by any means but even I could tell this was a cut above.
Smelled amazing before I even tasted it
First thing I noticed was the nose — really generous and inviting. Took it to a dinner party and everyone commented on it. The finish is lovely too, just sort of fades out gently rather than disappearing.
