First Impressions

Champagne Telmont Reserve Rose NV Champagne sustainably sourced arrives at £49.75, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. 75cl / 12% - Champagne Telmont is a relatively new kid on the Champagne block. They are very much about sustainability with 72% of their land being either organic or in conversion.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Telmont is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers delicate nose of white peach, fresh bread, and a hint of chalk and lemon curd. Moving to the palate, the wine is rich and layered, offering baked apple, hazelnut, and a creamy mousse with a dry mineral core. The finish is lingering and refined, with a final note of almond, citrus, and a dry mineral finish.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapés. Serve at 8-10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Champagne Telmont Reserve Rose NV Champagne sustainably sourced earns a well-deserved 6 out of 10. This is a solid champagne that delivers Chardonnay with genuine conviction and craft. At £49.75, this represents excellent value for money. Whether you are building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Zara Al-Hassan VIPsAllowed - Solid rosé champagne

Picked this up after the guy in the wine shop recommended it. It's good — dry and nutty with a clean finish. Not the most exciting champagne I've ever had but it's well made and I liked the almond notes at the end.

Saw this on a restaurant menu and thought I'd try it. It's nice — fresh peach on the nose, good bubbles, citrusy finish. Does the job for champagne but nothing that really made me sit up and take notice. The Pinot Noir comes through more than I expected which I liked.

Bought this for our anniversary and it went down a treat. Lovely creamy bubbles with a bit of that baked apple thing going on. At fifty quid it's not an everyday buy but it felt worth it for the occasion.

5/10

Had this at a friend's house and it was perfectly nice — peachy, bit bready, decent fizz. But nearly £50 for a non-vintage rosé champagne? I've had Crémants at half the price that I enjoyed just as much. Wouldn't buy it myself.

We had this with a prawn linguine and it was spot on. The lemon and mineral thing it has going on really worked with the food. Bubbles are super fine and creamy too. Would get again if it was on offer.

8/10

Got this as a birthday present and absolutely loved it. There's a lovely richness to it — hazelnut and baked apple — but it stays dry and doesn't get sickly. The sustainably sourced angle is a nice bonus too. One of the better rosé champagnes I've tried.

Sophia Laurent VIPsAllowed - Expected more at this price
5/10

Bought this for a dinner party thinking the Telmont name would impress. It's decent — dry, minerally, well-made — but at £49.75 I wanted a bit more wow factor. My guests enjoyed it but nobody asked what it was, if you know what I mean. The finish is probably the best bit, quite almondy and clean.
