First Impressions

Champagne Telmont Brut Reserve NV sustainably sourced arrives at £47.50, and at this price, it needs to offer genuine quality to stand out in a crowded market. 75cl / 12% - Champagne Telmont is a relatively new kid on the Champagne block. They are very much about sustainability with 72% of their land being either organic or in conversion.

France's winemaking heritage needs no introduction, but the best producers continue to find new ways to express their terroir while honouring centuries of tradition. Telmont is a name worth knowing in this context.

On the Nose and Palate

The nose offers delicate nose of white peach, fresh bread, and a hint of chalk and lemon curd. Moving to the palate, the wine is precise and focused, with lemon curd, green apple, and a chalky texture that drives the palate. The finish is persistent and precise, with citrus, biscuit, and a beautifully dry, mineral close.

Food Pairing and Serving

Equally at home as an aperitif or alongside seafood, sushi, or delicate canapés. Serve at 8-10°C in proper flutes or, better yet, white wine glasses to appreciate the full bouquet.

The Verdict

Champagne Telmont Brut Reserve NV sustainably sourced earns a well-deserved 8 out of 10. This is an outstanding champagne that delivers Chardonnay with genuine conviction and craft. At £47.50, this represents excellent value for money. Whether you are building a cellar or simply looking for something excellent to drink tonight, this bottle earns its place.

Noah Williams VIPsAllowed - Nice but maybe not £47 nice
7/10

Had this at a friend's dinner party and thought it was good, not amazing. It's dry and lemony with a bready thing going on which I liked. But honestly for nearly fifty quid I'd probably just grab a decent Crémant most of the time.

We split this over a seafood starter and it was brilliant. Light and precise, not too boozy at 12%, and the finish just goes on and on. I liked that it's sustainably made too — Telmont seem to actually care about that stuff.

The wine shop guy recommended this as a step up from supermarket champagne and he wasn't wrong. Really crisp and dry with green apple and lemon flavours. The bubbles are super fine too, not that aggressive fizz you get with cheaper stuff.

Saw this on a restaurant menu and ordered it by the glass. It's pleasant enough — dry, citrusy, fine bubbles. But for the price point I wanted to be wowed and it felt a bit restrained for my taste. I tend to prefer something with a bit more punch.

Picked this up from Majestic on a whim and ended up drinking it with sushi on a Friday night. The crisp apple and lemon thing works so well with fish. Really dry finish too which I appreciate — hate it when champagne is secretly sweet.

Grabbed this as a safe bet for a house party and multiple people asked me what it was. It's got this lovely peach and biscuit thing going on and the bubbles are really delicate. Not the cheapest bottle on the shelf but it makes you look like you know what you're doing.

I've been getting more into wine lately and this was a real eye-opener. The lemon curd and fresh bread notes are so clear, and there's this chalky mineral quality that makes it feel really elegant. Three different grapes in the blend and you can tell there's complexity there. Genuinely one of the best champagnes I've tried under £50.

Bought this for my wife's 40th and we were both really impressed. Lovely fine bubbles, and you get this gorgeous peachy thing going on with sort of biscuity undertones. At £47.50 it's not cheap but for a special occasion it absolutely hit the mark.
