Champagne Telmont Brut Reserve NV / Magnum
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV TelmontLovely but the price stings a bit
Look, this is a really good champagne. Fresh, balanced, clean finish that makes you want another glass. But £125 is a lot of money and I'm not sure it's twice as good as a £60 bottle. Would happily drink it again if someone else is buying.
Solid NV champagne
Had this at a restaurant first and tracked down a bottle after. Nice precise finish and good acidity that keeps things interesting. I'd say it punches above most non-vintage champagnes I've tried. Only knocking a point off because I think at this price point you start competing with some entry-level vintage stuff.
Best champagne I've had in ages
The wine shop guy recommended Telmont and I'm so glad I listened. From the first pour it just smells incredible — really expressive and inviting. The bubbles are fine, the acidity keeps it crisp, and there's this lovely complexity that builds as you drink. Genuinely struggled not to finish the whole magnum in one sitting.
Birthday treat that delivered
Got the magnum for my wife's 40th and it was a massive hit. Really fresh and lively with proper depth to it, not just fizz and nothing else. At £125 for a magnum it's actually not bad value compared to some champagnes. Would absolutely buy again for a special occasion.
Dinner party winner
Brought this to a friend's dinner party and everyone kept asking about it. It's got a brightness to it that I loved and it doesn't feel heavy at all despite having proper substance. The magnum format is great for sharing too — felt very generous cracking that open.
