Champagne Telmont Blanc de Blancs 2012 / Magnum
Champagne 12.5% ABV ABV TelmontTelmont are seriously underrated
Been getting into champagne this past year and Telmont keep impressing me. This 2012 blanc de blancs has so much going on — starts with citrus blossom, then you get the toasty depth, and the finish just goes on and on with this mineral quality. The acidity keeps everything fresh despite the richness. Proper serious champagne.
Worth every penny for a special night
Bought the magnum for our 10th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. The bubbles are so fine and creamy, and there's this lovely brioche thing going on that just makes it feel properly luxurious. We finished the whole bottle between us which says it all really.
Beautiful but hard to justify the price
Look, this is genuinely excellent champagne. Really elegant, great acidity, lovely lemon blossom notes. But £321 is a LOT of money and I think you can get 80% of this experience for half the price. Bought it for a promotion celebration and don't regret it, but it's not becoming a regular thing.
Good but expected more for the money
Saw this on a restaurant wine list and decided to treat ourselves. It's very well made — clean, precise, nice citrus and brioche flavours. But at this price point I was expecting to be blown away and I just wasn't. Maybe I need to learn more about champagne because everyone else at the table was raving about it.
The magnum format is the way to go
Had this at a friend's tasting evening and the bubbles were incredibly fine and persistent — apparently magnums age better or something? All I know is it was smooth, toasty, and had this clean finish that kept me going back for more. Blanc de blancs is quickly becoming my favourite style.
Classy stuff, maybe too subtle for some
The wine shop guy recommended this when I said I wanted something special for my wife's 40th. It's really refined and structured, not a big fruity crowd-pleaser. She loved it, but a couple of our friends said they preferred the prosecco. Their loss honestly.
Absolutely stunning birthday present
My partner surprised me with this magnum for my 50th and we cracked it open with our closest friends. It's so smooth and creamy with these gorgeous toasty notes, and the bubbles are tiny and elegant. Went perfectly with the seafood platter we ordered in. One of those wines you remember forever.
Best champagne I've ever had
My brother-in-law brought this to Christmas dinner and I'm still thinking about it months later. So much depth and layers of flavour — citrus, toast, something almost chalky and mineral. I don't usually spend this much on wine but I've already ordered one for my birthday.
